'Magic Mike 2' Still Developing With Original Cast Returning

"Mike Magic" came out of nowhere last summer to not only win big at the box office, despite it's meager budget, but it also scored with critics, appearing on many year-end "Best Of" lists. It wasn't long after the male stripper movie debuted that talk began to circulate of a possible sequel. Word on any [...]

Obama jokes about aging during second term

WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama joked Saturday that the years are catching up to him and he's not "the strapping young Muslim socialist" he used to be.

Obama poked fun at himself as well as some of his political adversaries during the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner attended by politicians, members of the media and Hollywood celebrities.

Entering to the rap track "All I Do Is Win" by DJ Khaled, Obama joked about how re-election would allow him to unleash a radical agenda. But then he showed a picture of himself golfing on a mock magazine cover of "Senior Leisure."

"I'm not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be," the president remarked, and then recounted his recent 2-for-22 basketball shooting performance at the White House Easter Egg hunt.

But Obama's most dramatic shift for the next four years appeared to be aesthetic. He presented a montage of shots featuring him with bangs similar to those sometimes sported by his wife.

"So we borrowed one of Michelle's tricks," Obama said. "I thought this looked pretty good, but no bounce."

Obama closed by noting the nation's recent tragedies in Massachusetts and Texas, praising Americans of all stripes from first responders to local journalists for serving the public good.

Saturday night's banquet not far from the White House attracted the usual assortment of stars from Hollywood and beyond. Actors Kevin Spacey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Claire Danes, who play government characters on series, were among the attendees, as was Korean entertainer Psy. Several Cabinet members, governors and members of Congress were present.

And despite coming at a somber time, nearly two weeks after the deadly Boston Marathon bombing and 10 days after a devastating fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas, the president and political allies and rivals alike took the opportunity to enjoy some humor. Late-night talk-show host Conan O'Brien headlined the event.

Some of Obama's jokes came at his Republican rivals' expense. He asked that the GOP's minority outreach begin with him as a "trial run" and said he'd take his recent charm offensive with Republicans on the road, including events with conservatives such as Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Michele Bachmann.

"In fact, I'm taking my charm offensive on the road -- a Texas barbeque with Ted Cruz, a Kentucky bluegrass concert with Rand Paul, and a book-burning with Michele Bachmann," Obama joked.

Casino magnate Sheldon Adelson would have had better success getting Obama out of office if he simply offered the president $100 million to drop out of last year's race, Obama quipped.

And on the 2016 election, the president noted in self-referential irony that potential Republican candidate Sen. Marco Rubio wasn't qualified because he hasn't even served a full term in the Senate. Obama served less than four years of his six-year Senate term before he was elected president in 2008.

"I mean, the guy has not even finished a single term in the Senate and he thinks he's ready to be President," Obama joked.

The gala also was an opportunity for six journalists, including Associated Press White House Correspondent Julie Pace, to be honored for their coverage of the presidency and national issues.

The New Yorker's Ryan Lizza won the Aldo Beckman Award, which recognizes excellence in the coverage of the presidency.

Pace won the Merriman Smith Award for a print journalist for coverage on deadline.

ABC's Terry Moran was the winner of the broadcast Merriman Smith Award for deadline reporting.

Reporters Jim Morris, Chris Hamby and Ronnie Greene of the Center for Public Integrity won the Edgar A. Poe Award for coverage of issues of national significance.

Group warns habitat designation could lead to plant's extinction

An environmental group has warned that a federal agency's plan to designate 98.4 acres as critical habitat for an endangered plant in western Riverside County is inadequate and could result in the extinction of the species.

In response to a lawsuit by the Center for Biological Diversity, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service earlier this month designated the small area just west of Lake Elsinore as critical habitat for Munz's onion.

The wildlife agency also rejected the center's request for it to protect habitat for the endangered San Jacinto Valley crownscale, which inhabits portions of the San Jacinto River flood plain near Hemet.

Both plants are threatened by habitat loss due to development, agricultural activities, off-road vehicle use, livestock grazing and clay mining, said Ileene Anderson, a biologist with the biological diversity group.

"Because of their tiny ranges and the development pressure there," Anderson said, "these rare plants could be lost to extinction if they don't have more critical habitat than this."

The Fish and Wildlife Service determined that additional critical habitat was not needed because much of the plants' historic range is within the boundaries of areas already proposed for protection under Western Riverside County's multiple-species habitat conservation plan.

But Anderson pointed out that in 2011, 89 acres of crownscale habitat was bulldozed to create artificial duck ponds within the boundaries of a conservation easement established under the multiple-species habitat conservation plan.

Munz's onion, a perennial bulb with bright white flowers, requires heavy clay soils that retain water.

San Jacinto Valley crownscale is a small scrubby plant with shiny grayish leaves. It is relegated to highly alkaline clay soils in flood plains.

"Western Riverside County is the only place on the planet where these plants are found and they are part of our natural heritage," Anderson said. "Their plight embodies the problems with the ecological health of the region."

Fatal stabbing of girl, 8, prompts NorCal manhunt

VALLEY SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) ? Authorities have released the name of a young girl who died after being stabbed in her home in rural Northern California.

The county coroner identified the girl as 8-year-old Leila Fowler. Initially she was reported as being 9-years-old, but Coroner Kevin Raggio said Sunday she would have turned 9 in June.

Meanwhile, residents of the tiny community of Valley Springs in Calaveras County are being told to keep their doors locked as authorities continue to search for the little girl's killer.

Sheriff's officials say the girl was found by her brother after he encountered an intruder in the home around noon Saturday.

When the intruder ran away, the boy found his sister stabbed. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital

Valley Springs is about 60 miles southeast of Sacramento.

ATD: Gates, Ballmer and Sean Parker join Zuckerberg's FWD.us lobby group

Mark Zuckerberg showed he's more than just a social butterfly earlier this month, forming the tech-focused political lobby group FWD.us alongside some other big names in the industry. Now, according to AllThingsD, a few more heavy-hitters have signed up to offer their expertise, including Sean Parker (Napster co-founder) and Microsoft's Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer and Brad Smith. Not a bad crew to have on your side when technology issues are up for discussion, especially Ballmer -- he's notoriously good at getting his point across.

Update: This post has been corrected to reflect that the Brad Smith involved is General Counsel and EVP at Microsoft, and not Intuit CEO Brad Smith.

New scoring system defines patients who achieve most benefit from TACE

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Friday 26 April 2013: Data from a number of clinical trials presented today at the International Liver Congress 2013 shed new light on the use of TACE and SIRT in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is a technique in which small particles designed to block blood vessels mixed or coated with chemotherapeutic drugs are injected directly into an artery supplying the tumour; it has become a standard treatment in selected patients with HCC.

New data presented today has identified a scoring system which defines those HCC patients who achieve the most benefit from TACE. An Assessment for Retreatment with TACE (or ART-score) was developed based on the impact of the initial TACE session on parameters of liver function and tumour response, and their impact on overall survival (overall survival; log rank test).

The ART-score differentiated two groups (0-1.5 points; ?2.5 points) with distinct differences in prognosis (median overall survival: 23.7 months vs. 6.6 months; p

EASL Vice-Secretary, Prof. Markus Peck-Radosavljevic commented: "These findings represent an important discovery as they will enable physicians to identify and treat those HCC patients who will benefit from repeat TACE sessions. Furthermore, rounds of ineffective treatment, as well as any associated side effects and complications, can be avoided for those patients who are not likely to respond."

While TACE is the standard-of-care treatment for intermediate-stage HCC, selective Internal Radiotherapy Treatment (SIRT) is more commonly used to treat patients with advanced-stage HCC, or those who are poor candidates for, or have failed TACE. However, data from SIRTACE, a separate, open-label, multi-centre pilot study suggest that a single-session of SIRT is as safe and effective as multiple sessions of TACE in a typical TACE patient cohort with unresectable HCC.

Patients were randomised to receive either TACE (n=15) or SIRT (n=13). Patients received a mean of 3.4 TACE interventions (median 2; range 1-11) or 1 SIRT procedure. Treatment response was assessed by local (using RECIST 1.0) and independent central (RECIST 1.1 and mRECIST) review. Median progression-free survival (RECIST 1.1) was 5.5 months (95%CI: 1.6- not reached) for TACE and 4.1 months (95%CI: 2.3-9.9) for SIRT (p=0.411). Overall survival did not differ by procedure (p=0.244).

The similar efficacy and safety of these two procedures presents a challenge for the design of a phase III trial for intermediate-stage HCC in terms of whether to use TACE or SIRT as the preferred treatment technique.

Finally, the SORAMIC European multicentre phase II clinical trial also showcased at the congress, evaluated the efficacy and safety of using a combination of SIRT and sorafenib for the treatment of HCC.

Data from the interim safety analysis has confirmed that SIRT as a sequential approach followed by an escalation scheme for sorafenib does not lead to increased toxicity. Interim analysis of the data showed a total number of adverse events of 196 and 220 in the combination and control arm, with grade 3-5 adverse events reaching 42 and 49, respectively (p>0.05).

SORAMIC continues to recruit and investigators are hopeful that the combination of SIRT and sorafenib will be shown to significantly enhance survival over sorafenib alone without increasing toxicity thus enabling to design large Phase III clinical trials.

Grizzlies Beat Clippers 94-82 In Game 3: Zach Randolph, Memphis Cut L.A. Series Lead To 2-1

MEMPHIS, Tenn. ? Zach Randolph's fast start helped the Memphis Grizzlies return to their inside dominance.

Randolph had 13 of his 27 points in the first quarter, and he finished with 11 rebounds and the Grizzlies beat the Los Angeles Clippers 94-82 on Thursday night to pull within 2-1 in this first-round series.

"Zach was huge," Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said. "He got started quickly. He had 18 at halftime, and that got us going and everyone else just flowed into that. I thought our defense, for the most part, was solid."

Randolph hadn't scored more than 13 in each of the first two games and had only 12 rebounds combined in Los Angeles. He looked much more like the All Star who had 45 double-doubles this season, and he also had six offensive rebounds after leading the NBA with 310 in the regular season.

The man known as "Z Bo" was the last of the Grizzlies off the court in pre-game warmups, and he had his shot working early.

"I definitely wanted to come out and be aggressive," Randolph said. "They've been double-teaming, triple-teaming me. So just go fast, you know hit a couple jump shots and open it up. Most definitely, I wanted to come out and be aggressive."

The Grizzlies snapped the Clippers' nine-game winning streak by outrebounding and dominating on second-chance points, the same things Los Angeles did so well on its home court to start the series in beating Memphis at its own style.

Game 4 is Saturday in Memphis.

Marc Gasol accepted his trophy as the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year before tipoff, then scored 16 points. Quincy Pondexter and Tony Allen had 13 each. Mike Conley was 1 of 9 but had 10 assists and no turnovers on a night where he was so sick he sipped on soda and didn't talk much.

Pondexter said Gasol anchored the Grizzlies on the defensive end to help them return to "Grizzlies' basketball" and called Randolph and Gasol two of the best big men in the NBA.

"They are really great," Pondexter said. "Marc is the best center in my eyes. Zach has the ability to play like the best power forward in the league. When those two guys are doing what they do, it's hard to stop us."

Blake Griffin scored 16 points for the Clippers. Matt Barnes had 12, Chauncey Billups 11 and Jamal Crawford and Caron Butler 10. Chris Paul had eight points on 4-of-11 shooting and added six assists.

"We didn't make any adjustments," Hollins said of defending Paul. "We just played better."

Paul wasn't happy with himself after he had five of the Clippers 18 turnovers. He also didn't get to the free throw line either.

"It's uncharacteristic of us. You know I mean especially me," Paul said. "I had five turnovers tonight, and our turnovers led to 17 of their points. They got offensive rebounds, things we hadn't let them do in Game 1 and Game 2. We just got to be better."

The game was a continuation of the roughness in Los Angeles with a flagrant foul, three technicals and a lot of whoofing along with a bear hug by Randolph after Barnes' flagrant foul.

The Clippers had beaten the Grizzlies three straight in Memphis, including a Game 7 win in the first round a year ago. They also had won six of the last seven in the series overall.

Memphis outrebounded the Clippers 45-33, including 17-5 on the offensive boards. That gave the Grizzlies a 22-4 edge in second-chance points, which was similar to what the Clippers did to Memphis in Game 1 when they held a 25-5 advantage. The Grizzlies also outscored Los Angeles 40-26 in the paint and led by as much as 16.

"That's what they do," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "We have been able to contain it pretty well for the first couple of games, but we just didn't do a good enough job. We've got to find a way to get everybody in there."

The Clippers last led 10-8 in the first quarter before the Grizzlies took control with Randolph hitting four of his first five shots and all five free throws for 13 points in the quarter.

They tried to make a run late in the third and into the fourth as they have so often to beat Memphis in this series. They got as close as 74-69 with 8:39 left on a pair of free throws by Barnes.

"He came out aggressive, and that's what they needed," Griffin said of Randolph.

Memphis answered with a 7-2 spurt to push the lead back to double digits on a reverse layup by Pondexter off an assist from Randolph. During the run, Paul stole the ball from Grizzlies guard Jerryd Bayless and passed to Eric Bledsoe for a 3 he missed. Gasol got the rebound.

The Grizzlies outscored the Clippers 23-20 in the first quarter and 24-19 in the second, taking a 47-39 lead into halftime. They hadn't led by more than six in Los Angeles and were up by seven in the first quarter back on their own court. They pushed that to 12 in the second quarter.

Memphis' lead grew to 14 a couple times in the third, the last at 68-54 on a pair of free throws by Pondexter with 1:22 left.

That's when the Clippers went on a 10-2 run featuring back-to-back 3s by Crawford and then Lamar Odom. Ronny Turiaf dunked to pull the Clippers to 70-64 with 11:04 to go.

Pondexter then scored five points for Memphis as he got the rebound after he missed his second free throw attempt and put it back while being fouled by Barnes.

Pondexter added the free throw, pushing Memphis' lead back up to double digits with 10:16 remaining.

Notes: Randolph wound up part of a double foul situation for a third straight game in this series with Griffin late in the game. ... The Clippers hadn't lost in Memphis since Game 5 last year in the playoffs and won 24 road games during the regular season. ... The Grizzlies went 28-of-38 at the free throw line compared to 21-of-23 for the Clippers. ...The Clippers' 82 points were two shy of a franchise low in the postseason. ... Pondexter had only five total points in the first two games of the series. ... Paul had averaged 23.5 points in the first two games of the series.

Speedy fix for FAA sequester woes

By Doug Palmer and Richard Cowan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The House of Representatives on Friday overwhelmingly approved a Senate plan to ease nationwide air traffic delays caused by automatic federal spending cuts, seeking to calm an irritated traveling public as lawmakers themselves flew out of Washington for a week-long recess.

The Senate had unanimously voted for the plan late Thursday.

The barely four pages of legislation will give the Department of Transportation flexibility to use unspent funds to cover the costs of air traffic controllers and other essential employees at the Federal Aviation Administration who had been furloughed.

The bill, approved by the House in 361-41 vote, now moves to President Barack Obama's desk for signature. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Obama plans to sign the bill.

It is unclear how quickly the FAA can reverse the furloughs.

Lawmakers were eager to stem the growing wrath of the traveling public, which had dealt with significant take-off and landing delays since the furloughs started on Sunday. There were many reports from passengers of pilots coming on the intercom to explicitly blame the air traffic snarls on the automatic federal spending cuts that went into effect last month.

Congress also faced angry comments from airline CEOs whose companies had mounted a grassroots campaign by setting up a website called dontgroundamerica.com, encouraging Americans to send messages to Congress and the White House.

The quick legislative action marks a surprising bipartisan effort, especially after many Republicans had accused the Obama administration of manipulating funds to maximize the impact of the automatic budget cuts and thus make Republicans look bad.

It does come with the risk, though, of unleashing furious lobbying campaigns to ease other program cuts that were triggered by the controversial "sequestration" that took effect on March 1, requiring across-the-board spending cuts among most federal agencies. The cuts aimed to trim a total of $85 billion from federal spending through September of this year.

Democratic Representative Steny Hoyer of Maryland gave an impassioned speech on the House floor on Friday about the groups not getting a break. He said children, the sick and the military are not helped by this deal.

"Let's deal with all the adverse cuts, not just those that affect the affluent traveling sector," Hoyer said.

BAND-AID

While supporting the legislation, the White House on Friday said it falls short of broader action needed to address sequestration.

"It will be good news for America's traveling public if Congress spares them these unnecessary delays," Carney said in a statement.

Carney said lawmakers need to take additional steps to alleviate the impact felt beyond the airline industry from the cuts, such as among poorer elderly people, defense industry workers and others brought on by sequestration.

"Ultimately, this is no more than a temporary Band-Aid that fails to address the overarching threat to our economy posed by the sequester's mindless across-the-board cuts," he said.

Sequestration took effect when congressional leaders and Obama failed to come to an alternative budget deal that would have turned off the crude budget cuts.

Transportation officials have made other cuts to their budget but furloughs of air traffic controllers began this week, prompting traveler backlash at major hubs such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

On Friday morning, departing flights at Newark Liberty International Airport were delayed more than an hour and 15 minutes, and Boston's Logan Airport had departure delays of more than 30 minutes, both due to staffing, the FAA said. Teterboro airport in New Jersey, which handles many corporate jets, also was experiencing delays of more than 90 minutes due to staffing.

The U.S. Travel Association on Friday said it appreciated Congress' swift action, especially ahead of the heavy summer travel season.

But the group said it was concerned that the Transportation Department may divert funds from critical infrastructure projects.

"At a time when we should be modernizing our infrastructure to improve efficiency, capacity and U.S. global competitiveness, sequestration-related issues should not be solved on the backs of airports," the group said in a statement.

Introduction
Hardware Secrets Silver Award

Not long ago, we received the Aivia Osmium keyboard from Gigabyte for reviewing. Imagine our surprise when we received another Aivia Osmium with almost no difference in the presentation, aside from having white illumination instead of blue, and featuring Cherry MX Brown mechanical switches instead of the red model. The boxes have different visuals, but the consumer has to keep a keen eye to know which Osmium he or she is buying because there is no hint in their names (like ?Osmium Brown? or ?Osmium Red?, for instance). Let?s test this new Osmium and compare it to the one previously reviewed ? the main thing here is to know the difference between those two types of mechanical switches.

Aside from the white light illumination, this Osmium is an identical twin to the other one. It has the same robust and heavy body, and it also features a detachable wrist rest made of non-rubberized plastic. The panel with the Aivia logo on the upper right corner also doubles as a button switch for the user profiles, and it contains the Scroll/Num/Caps lock LEDs.

The main visual features can be found on the upper left corner: the macro keys (G1-G5) bank alongside two dented and illuminated wheels that control the volume and the illumination intensity. They make the Osmium?s competition stand aside.

PFT: Chiefs, Dolphins reportedly still talking Albert

Top NFL Draft prospects stand on the marquee above Radio City Music Hall ahead of the 2013 NFL Draft in New YorkReuters

Here?s a historical look at the way the Bills have systemically ignored QBs in the Draft (and we wonder why they are the way they are).

For the Dolphins, the 12th pick represents the least of the drama, as trade talks on multiple fronts are ongoing.

Retired Patriots mainstay Kevin Faulk has given newcomer Leon Washington permission to wear his No. 33 jersey.

Short-rope coach Rex Ryan might need the Jets to draft a QB to increase his own job security.

The Ravens have multiple options to find some help at LB.

While the Bengals are hopeful of an Andre Smith deal, he?s still unsigned, which puts RT on the needs list.

Tom Reed of the Cleveland Plain Dealer believes finding CB help is the top priority for the Browns.

The Steelers are taking a closer look at character issues during their pre-draft preparations.

Texans RB Arian Foster will have a role in the movie Draft Day, playing a draft prospect.

The Colts needs list is easy: Anything but QB.

Fan voting has chosen the Titans? 15th anniversary logo, which includes a sword and Roman numerals.

The Broncos are hoping for an early run on QBs, to push the guys they want down to them.

Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star is coming around to the idea of the Chiefs trading Branden Albert only to draft his replacement.

Before they can worry about a Commitment to Excellence, Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie wants his team to have a commitment to character.

Few teams have a more glaring need to fill than the Chargers all along the offensive line.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones says it?s a 50-50 chance the team actually uses the 18th pick.

The Giants haven?t drafted a LB in the first round since 1984.

E.J. Manuel, who said the Eagles ?want me pretty bad? is being mentored by former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb.

The Redskins are comfortable with having the night off tonight, since they have their QB position taken care of.

The Bears might want to move down, but they can?t afford to go too low.

Tonight?s the kind of night that could save Lions GM Martin Mayhew?s job.

The Packers worked out RB Cedric Benson yesterday, but no deal appears imminent.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman said his picks are unlikely to be a ?surprise.?

All signs point to the Falcons drafting a CB, whenever they draft.

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson told city leaders he moved a mountain to accommodate the Democratic National Convention, during his plea for public money.

The Saints can doubtless find someone to help their league-worst defense at 15.

You can?t count the Bucs out tonight, though they don?t have a pick at the moment.

Cardinals GM Steve Keim is ready for his chance to sit in the big chair.

The Rams have solid players, they need playmakers, writes Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Everyone anticipates the 49ers making moves tonight and throughout the weekend, and that raises the stakes for GM Trent Baalke.

The Seahawks have made their moves, so they?re sitting back and watching tonight.

Thousands honor slain MIT officer

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) ? Slain Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer Sean Collier was remembered Wednesday for his dedication to law enforcement and his love of people as thousands gathered at a campus memorial.

Vice President Joe Biden joined students, faculty and staff, and law enforcement officials from across the nation at Briggs Field for the service to honor an officer who was already well-respected by his colleagues and superiors, and popular with students after little more than a year on campus

Collier was fatally shot on April 18, three days after the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three people. Authorities say he was shot by brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was charged Monday in his hospital room, where he is in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the throat suffered during his attempted getaway. His brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan, died Friday after a gunbattle with police.

"My heart goes out to you," Biden told Collier's family. "I hope you find some solace in this time of extreme grief."

Biden called the bothers suspected in the bombings and Collier's killing "two twisted, perverted, cowardly, knock-off jihadis"

He said he is constantly asked the question of why terrorists do what they do against the U.S.

"I've come to conclusion they do it to instill fear," Biden said. "To have us, in the name of our safety and security, jettison what we value most in the world, our open society, our system of justice that guarantees freedom. ... Our transparency; that's their target.

"It infuriates them that we refuse to bend, refuse to change, refuse to bend to fear."

Collier's casket was positioned in front of the thousands who gathered on a bright, sunny spring day. Music of bagpipes echoed through the field and a large American flag, suspended high about the crowd between two fire department ladder trucks, flapped slowly in the breeze.

Boston native James Taylor sang "The Water is Wide" and led a sing-along during "Shower the People."

Biden told the Colliers that no child should predecease their parents, and that better times are ahead.

"The moment will come ... when the memory of Sean is triggered and you know it's going to be OK," Biden said. "When the first instinct is to get a smile on your lips before a tear to your eye."

Andrew Collier said his 26-year-old brother would have loved everything about the day, including the bagpipes and the American flag.

"He was born to be a police officer and lived out his dream," Andrew Collier said.

MIT President L. Rafael Reif told those gathered that Collier made countless friends on campus.

"Sean Collier didn't have a job at MIT, he had a life at MIT," Reif said. "In just 15 months, he built a life with us. He touched people across our community."

Campus Police Chief John DiFava acknowledged the risk that accompanied the position of police officer, but questioned whether the risk of a job in law enforcement needed to come with such devastation.

"Sean left a lot behind," DiFava said. "He left us a lesson: Do it right!

"If you want to cherish his memory, remember to do it right," he said.

State police said between 4,000 and 5,000 attended the service. The line of mourners stretched for about a half mile at MIT ahead of the service. They had to make their way through tight security, including metal detectors and bomb-sniffing dogs ahead of the service.

"He is the one of the nicest people that I've ever met," said Kelly Daumit, 25, of Seattle, an engineering student at MIT who had gone on hikes with Collier as part of the MIT Outing Club. "Everything people are saying about him is completely genuine; it's not because of what happened."

MIT employee Larry Clark said he had only talked to Collier a couple of times but wanted to pay his respects.

"It's very tough. It's still a shock," he said.

Bagpipers played "Amazing Grace" as Collier's casket was carried from the service, and there was a fly-by with three helicopters over the campus.

A funeral was held for the officer on Tuesday.

Fonda to add prints by dad's at Chinese Theatre

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Jane Fonda is planning to shed a few tears on Saturday.

That's when the 75-year-old Oscar winner will place her hand and footprints next to her father's in the concrete shrine to celebrity outside Hollywood's Chinese Theatre. Then she'll present a special screening of the film she made with her dad, 1981's "On Golden Pond." The cement and cinematic tribute is part of the 2013 TCM Classic Film Festival, which is honoring Jane Fonda.

"I am very, very excited," Fonda said in an interview this week. "I thought probably I would die and this would never happen. I'm just really thrilled that it actually is happening and not only that, but I get to put my hand and footprints right next to my father. ... I'm just so happy I'll probably cry."

The honor inspired Fonda to reflect on her career, which hasn't slowed since she returned to acting in 2005 after a 15-year hiatus.

"I've made some really good films. There's also a lot of films I wish I could do over again," she said. "But I've been lucky: I've worked with some great directors, and I feel like I'm still a work in progress as an actor. I feel like I'm still learning."

After her guest-starring stint on "The Newsroom," she's more interested than ever in television.

"I'd love to have a television series of my own," Fonda said. "I'm hoping that might happen."

A fitness pioneer, Fonda continues to focus on health and wellness with a series of videos aimed at older exercisers. She also inspired countless Oscar watchers earlier this year with her fitted, bright yellow gown, and she serves as L'Oreal's oldest spokeswoman.

"When you're younger, you don't have to put so much time into it, but also I didn't care that much. I was an activist and I didn't think so much about how I appeared," she said. "As I've gotten older, I've paid more attention to how I dress, how I look, what makeup I use, what skincare products I use... I guess one reason that I put more effort into looking good now is because I think it gives hope to other women. It takes the edge off the fear that young people have of getting older."

The wisdom and openness that come with aging are easy to wear well, and Fonda said she's happier now than ever.

"This event that's coming up where I get to put my hand and shoeprints next to my dad in front of the Chinese Theatre, it's coming at a very happy time in my life," Fonda said, "and making it even happier."

Body found in Providence River identified as missing student

By Richard Weizel

BOSTON (Reuters) - A body found floating in the Providence River was that of a 22-year-old Brown University student who had been missing for more than a month, Rhode Island officials confirmed on Thursday.

The body of Sunil Tripathi, who had been missing since March 16, had been found by the university's men's crew team late on Tuesday.

"We have been able to conclusively determine the body is that of Sunil Tripathi, but will not be able to determine the cause of death for several months," said Dara Chadwick, a spokeswoman for the Rhode Island Department of Health.

The case received national media attention after social media websites last week lit up with a false rumor that Tripathi, who was on an approved leave from Brown, was one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings.

The actual suspects have been identified as brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

While Tripathi's family blasted those reports last week, they posted a statement of thanks on Thursday on a special website which had been set up to help find the missing student.

"As we carry indescribable grief, we also feel incredible gratitude," the family said. "To each one of you - from your hometown to many distant lands - we extend our thanks for the words of encouragement, for your thoughts, for your prayers and for the love you have generously shared."

Brown University President Christina Paxson said on Thursday: "We extend our deepest condolences to Sunil's family for their loss and for the immeasurable pain they have endured during this period."

The university plans a memorial service for Tripathi on Saturday afternoon.

(AP) ? Another Tennessee Williams masterpiece is coming to Broadway and it's bringing Zachary Quinto and Cherry Jones along for the ride.

Producers Jeffrey Richards said Thursday he'll transfer the American Repertory Theater's production of "The Glass Menagerie" to New York for a 17-week engagement starting this September.

Quinto, who plays Spock in the "Star Trek" reboots and wowed audiences in a recent off-Broadway production of "Angels In America," will be making his Broadway debut as Tom.

Jones, the two-time Tony Award winner for "Doubt" and "The Heiress" who played President Allison Taylor in the TV series "24," will play Amanda Wingfield.

They'll be joined by Celia Keenan-Bolger, fresh off her role as Wendy in Broadway's "Peter and the Starcatcher," and Brian J. Smith, recently in "The Columnist." John Tiffany, who helmed "Once," will direct.

Performances begin Sept, 5 with an opening night set for Sept. 26. The venue will be a Shubert Theatre that has yet to be announced. The show originated at the acclaimed American Repertory Theater outside Boston this winter.

The play centers on an aging Southern belle who hopes her son can fulfill her dreams of finding the perfect "gentleman caller" for her shy and damaged daughter.

The last time "The Glass Menagerie" hit Broadway was 2005 starring Jessica Lange and Christian Slater. The latest revival comes on the heels of "A Streetcar Named Desire" last year with Blair Underwood and Nicole Ari Parker, and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" this year with Scarlett Johansson.
